Michelle is a New York State certified speech and language pathologist with over 10 years of experience. Michelle proudly received her BS from the University of Maryland and her MA/TSSLD from Hofstra University. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association, and in her spare time, loves mentoring future speech therapists from New York City colleges. Michelle is a tenured speech and language pathologist with the NYC board of education, where she serves on the special education team and child-referral team. She has worked for the past twelve years in a Title One elementary and middle school, completing both treatment and evaluations for the students. Additionally, Michelle has over 10 years of experience providing evaluations and treatment for NYS Early Intervention.  Her passions have grown to include tutoring in all English language arts subjects, as well as math through 5th grade.

Currently, Michelle services students from birth to 8th grade. Her therapy targets expressive/receptive language delays, fluency, articulation disorders, phonological disorders, learning disabilities, apraxia, ADD and ADHD, pragmatic and social skills, executive functioning disabilities, literacy, reading and writing deficits, and math skills. Michelle is trained in multiple reading and writing programs such as Recipe for Reading, Fundations, Lively Letters, Sounds in Motion, The Writing Revolution, and other Orton-Gillingham approaches. She provides dynamic in-person and remote speech and language services.

Michelle uses her knowledge of communication skills to enhance reading and writing skills, including comprehension, organization, and written output.  Her background in speech also allows Michelle to tackle underlying comprehension deficits related to math word problems and the breakdown of math concepts.  A mom to two herself, Michelle loves working with children of all ages and determining the best intervention methods for her students.
